The Independent School Alliance is grateful to have the support of 50-plus independent schools throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area. Independent School Alliance member schools share a common mission, assisting families in their explorations of independent school education. They do so by following the best practices of the National Association of Independent School (NAIS) and California Association of Independent School (CAIS). They are self-determining in mission and program, free from government control, and governed by independent boards.
Our member school list is comprised of a variety of schools. Some institutions begin at kindergarten and end at 12th grade, some end at the 8th grade, and others only focus on elementary or secondary years. Most of our schools are day schools, meaning students do not live on campus, but we have a growing number of boarding school options for our high-school candidates. Lastly, our member schools offer programs that span across the traditional, development, and progressive spectrum of educational philosophies.
