Does your school’s mission statement commit you to prepare your students to be culturally-competent global citizens able to respect a diversity of identities and engage perspectives and backgrounds?

Without racially and ethnically diverse faculty and staff, it is much harder to deliver on your mission. You’re also under preparing your students to lead and thrive in an increasingly changing city, country, and world. Share with us as we discuss purposeful actions and valuable resources for hiring and retaining a
racially and ethnically diverse faculty and staff.
 

Program

The main program will consist of a panel and discussion with the theme of creating and maintaining a racially and ethnically diverse faculty and staff. We invite anyone involved in the hiring and decision-making process in Independent Schools in the Greater Los Angeles areas but particularly: School Heads, Division Directors, Department Chairs, Trustees, Teachers, and HR Specialists/Personnel.
Topics Include:
  • How to think about diversity, inclusion, and your own staffing needs
  • The importance of proactive networking and recruiting to hire a diverse staff
  • Building a diverse candidate pool for open positions
  • Evaluating and interviewing candidates in a culturally competent, bias-free manner
  • Developing and retaining your staff once you’ve hired them
