Danielle Edwards developed a passion for education early on in life and resolved to succeed in it. After graduating from Immaculate Heart High School, Danielle received a full academic scholarship to Spelman College where she majored in English with a Minor in Spanish. She was also fortunate to attend La Universidad Nacional in Heredia, Costa Rica during a semester abroad.
Upon graduation from college, Danielle returned to her hometown of Los Angeles to accept a teaching position with the Institute of Reading Development. Since then, she’s had the honor of working with all grade levels in some capacity, from pre-school early literacy to speed reading for business professionals, at various educational institutions throughout the city.
Danielle earned a Masters in Education from UCLA in 2013 along with a Bilingual Multiple Subject Credential. She most recently added on a Single Subject English Credential which she plans to continue to use to invite others to share in her love of literature.
While most of her professional time has been spent in the classroom, Danielle is thrilled to begin this new journey as an Admissions Counselor with the Independent School Alliance. Fully conscious of her educational privilege, she seeks to broaden her scope of influence, working tirelessly to ensure educational access for deserving minority students across Los Angeles County, just as her educational heroes did for her.
Outside of education, Danielle is a grateful wife and a busy warrior mama to an exceptional 2-year-old daughter and a joyful 8 month-old son. Together, they enjoy living room dance parties and sharing delicious meals. When she does find a second of downtime, however, Danielle can be found in a yoga studio, at the spa, or in HomeGoods.
