The Alliance's annual Student Orientation Program (SOP) is a 5-day youth leadership and development program. It is open to all Alliance families to introduce and better prepare rising 6th-9th grade students with the transition into their new independent school in the fall. Workshops on identity, social life, relationship building, self-care, and mindfulness were discussed upon. Additionally participants engaged in academic review of their core subjects with LA independent school teachers in order to make sure they were ready to hit the ground running on the first day and visited UCLA where they met with undergraduate and graduate students of color.
