Assistant Director of Admissions & Programs
Kaela Farrise is the Admissions and Diversity Programs Coordinator at the Independent School Alliance. In this role, she works as a part of the admissions and recruitment team to ensure students and families admitted to the program consistently achieve the best possible outcomes. Additionally, in collaboration with the Executive Director, she is responsible for the development and implementation of all diversity programs and support services to all Alliance constituencies. Kaela is originally from Oakland, CA but spent pieces of her childhood all along the California Coast, graduating from Crossroads School for the Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica in 2010. Her passion for creating opportunities for educational opportunity and youth empowerment comes partially from her experiences attending 7 different schools before college in a diverse range of environments.
Kaela is a 2014 graduate of Stanford University where she double majored in Urban Studies with a concentration in Urban Education, and African and African American Studies. Prior to her work with The Alliance, Kaela worked as a program assistant at UCLA developing a peer-coaching program for the most under-resourced students on campus, and most recently as a behavioral therapist for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum. She has experiences working in college admissions, empowering youth, developing curriculum, fostering inclusive learning spaces and disability services. She is an advocate for education equity, social justice and mental health awareness.
In true California girl style, Kaela loves being at the beach and soaking up the sun. If she's not reading a good book you will likely find her baking in the kitchen, having a great time in a dance class or walking along the sand with her dog, Falcon.
