Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences, Class of 2013
"The Independent School Alliance propelled me in the right direction toward reconciling who I am with where I am. It also helped clarify my calling to pave a road to success for growing black and brown girls."
Born in Los Angeles, CA, Hassani R. Scott is a worldwide wanderer. The 23-year-old educator/pedagogical DJ, writer, and spiritual activist remains committed to navigating the rest of her life as a deeply rooted, mobile monument. Scott is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and works dutifully toward fulfilling her mission on earth to love, lead, save, and serve. She attended Brown University ‘17 and began engaging her life’s work on the spatial, spiritual, and temporal dimensions of freedom during her studies at Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS (Fall ‘15). After receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Africana Studies, she proceeded to purposefully meander through consulting and theater production. Always striving for prolificacy, Scott now finds herself back home as a teacher and budding cultural entrepreneur who stands firmly in her calling to curate transformative, emancipatory educational experiences for K-12 aged children.
