The Alliance's annual Student Orientation Program (SOP) was recently expanded to a two-week leadership and development program. It is open to all Alliance families to introduce and better prepare rising 6th-9th grade students with the transition into their new independent school in the fall. Workshops on identity, social life, relationship building, self-care, and mindfulness were discussed upon. Additionally, participants engaged in an academic review of their core subjects with LA independent school teachers in order to make sure they were ready to hit the ground running on the first day! We are so proud of our newest cohort!

This program was created to help transition our newest cohort of enrolled students into the independent school setting. The invitation is extended to all newly enrolled students in our member independent schools, for the opportunity to build a stronger student of color community.
