Youth Ambassador Program

The purpose of the Independent School Alliance Youth Ambassador Service program is to provide unique opportunities for young people to serve their community as advocates for positive social change. Each year, a number of distinguished Independent School Alliance scholars are selected to participate in this prestigious and rewarding program. Students are selected based on their outstanding leadership abilities, personal character, academic achievement, and community service.
The Overall Objectives of the Program Are To:
  • Increase public awareness of the Independent School Alliance’s mission and history
  • To engage Independent School Alliance scholars in coalition and partnership-building efforts
  • To provide opportunities for students to speak on the importance of diversity in schools and equal access to education

  • Q. What is the Level of Commitment to Participate in the Youth Ambassador Program?

    • Serve as youth education liaison for your school and community
    • Appear in videos, print ads, and public service campaigns to promote diversity, inclusion and multicultural education
    • Appear and speak at ISA engagements on the importance of diversity in schools and equal access to education
    • Participate in monthly conference calls
    • Meet 6 times a year with ISA staff and other ambassadors
  • Q. What Are The Requirements to Become A Youth Ambassador?

    • Sixth through 12th-grade ISA scholars, currently enrolled in one of the Independent School Alliance member schools
    • Demonstrated leadership ability
    • Strong interest in social justice and advocacy work
    • Excellent character, integrity, and adaptability
    • The desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
    • Public-speaking experience
