Galit Donnelly

Galit was born in South Africa and moved as a young child to Australia. A child of immigrants, Galit understands firsthand the transformative power of private education—and the sacrifice it can take to access it.

Galit’s parents rebuilt their lives in a new country and made education their highest priority. Despite language challenges and cultural adjustments in a new country, Galit's parents dedicated their adult lives to creating a better childhood for their children than the one they had experienced. Education was of utmost importance to them. That foundation has shaped everything since.

Galit holds a high distinction, a double degree in Arts and Law from Deakin University, Melbourne. Galit went on to practice as a litigation lawyer for nearly a decade across Sydney, Melbourne, and Hong Kong, working at top-tier firms in each of those cities.

Galit subsequently turned her focus to her greatest pursuit—raising four children, living across London, Los Angeles, and Italy along the way.

Galit is deeply committed to expanding private education opportunities to bright, deserving children. This conviction drew her to the Independent School Alliance several years ago. Galit has since served with dedication as a Dinner Committee member—immersing herself in its mission, its remarkable longevity, its school partners across California, and the inspiring community of individuals who champion its work.

It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of purpose that Galit seeks to contribute at the board level, bringing her legal background, international perspective, and personal connection to this mission to help shape its future.
