The Independent School Alliance Application Window is Now Open!
Thank you for your interest in the Independent School Alliance Cohort 43 (2027-2028 school year). Please see below for more details and to access the inquiry.
The Process
The first step is to fill out an Inquiry Form. Upon completion of this form, you will receive an email that will allow you to login to your account. Applications will be shared to this account beginning March 15.
Attend an Information Session (sessions will be held throughout the spring across Greater Los Angeles and Pasadena. Dates to be released). Our information sessions take a large portion of the guesswork out of the application process. You will leave with a better understanding of the Independent School Alliance as a whole, while your questions and concerns will be thoroughly addressed.
Submit your application on time. This year’s application deadline for Cohort 43 is June 19, 2026. Prepare for success by submitting fully completed documents and answering all questions thoroughly.

Requirements
In order to apply to a member school through the Independent School Alliance, students must first be admitted into our Cohort as a candidate for placement.
Independent School Alliance supports students applying for entry-level grades: Kindergarten, 6th, 7th, and 9th. Other grades will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Students that qualify for candidate status demonstrate significant ability, achievement, motivation, and citizenship.
What grade am I applying for?
The Independent School Alliance cohort cycle takes place during one full academic year. This means families should apply TWO grades ahead of their student’s current grade.
For Example:
A 3 year old TK student should apply for Kindergarten
A current 4th grade student should apply for 6th grade
A current 7th grade student should apply for 9th grade
Independent School Alliance works closely with families throughout the entire admissions process and counsels families on independent school choice. The admissions program encourages families from underrepresented and economically under-resourced communities to engage in independent school communities through our comprehensive application process. Families and students admitted into our cohort are provided nine months of support to prepare and navigate through the independent school admission process.
